Paper Industry
Working with the company’s Engineering Team, designed and project managed the installation of a new steam supply to a paper machine eliminating waterhammer and expansion problems which were the result of pipe modifications over the last 30 years.
Generously sized to ensure low steam velocities and following good engineering practice, the steam main was fitted with full bore drain pockets at all relay points each fitted with thermodynamic steam traps.
Thermostatic air vents were also installed at the top of all vertical sections.
The addition of drain pockets and trap sets upstream of each isolation valve ensured all condensate and entrained air was adequately dealt with at start-up resulting in safe trouble free operation.
