Contracted to design, build and commission a large packaged heat exchange system capable of heating water at a flow rate of 5000l/min from 10OC to 50OC with primary steam at 12BarG and water pressure at 6BarG.
Final water temperature had to be variable up to the designed maximum, easily adjusted whilst ensuring that the steam pressure downstream of the control valve was limited to a maximum of 5BarG.
The design brief was successfully achieved by a combination of a cascade control system matched with Spirax Sarco’s ‘C’ series control valve.
Master and slave controllers monitored the secondary side temperature and primary side steam pressure with the 150mm control valve, with its cage guided plug, giving excellent control, precisely regulating the steam flow to match the process requirements.
