To enable Managers and Engineers to compare present feedwater treatment control against Aquanet’s ‘Dosing on Demand’ system, Aquanet International have produced a computer based mathematical boiler model.
The program, available free to download follow this lnk BoilerModel.
The boiler model allows you to input your present operating parameters, running the model calculates your steam costs and blowdown volume.
Setting the model to run in either 'Manual ' or 'Dosing on Flow' to establish your present costs and then running the model on 'Dosing on Demand' you're free to compare the differences.
Clicking on the results button displays the operating parameters in graphical form, allowing you to compare each dosing philosophy.
The model allows you to input and change the:
'The Boiler Characteristics', size of boiler, target TDS level, boiler efficiency, type of fuel (Gas or Oil) and cost.
'Condensate Returns' Quality and Amount.
'Feed Tank' Size, temperature TDS level Steam Pressure and heating valve size.
'Make-up Water' Temperature, TDS, Alkalinity and Hardness.
Set the stroke and pulse rate of your dosing pumps and click the start button.
There is a graphical representation of your daily steam output which you are free to set up using your mouse. Alternatively it can be set at 60% of your boiler output by right clicking your mouse on the 'Time'.
Run the model and change the setting to see what improvements can be made.
